The beach at 1:21 should be the Stanley Main Beach, as the retaining wall behind is still exactly the same, with the little tower on the left. The building is different though, as the current apartment seems to be from the 60s.

What do you mean by 'counslette'? Were you in HK in 1955? What was the name of your grandfather?

Whereabouts was the consuls residence? Is it still around to day or has it been bulldozed to make way for a high rise?

I thought consul Iskandar Ishaq lived at Repulse Bay. I haven't been in Hong Kong for twenty years, so wouldn't know its present status.
