@sarahmyst - Except for Barney and Sesame Street nearly ALL children's cartoons and TV shows have double entendres and innuendos. Never more than now with the Simpsons. Some of them are just sophisticated humor that no 8 year old would ever get. The Wizard Of Oz is a classic case of adult inside jokes (non sexual). However, I think many of Pee Wee's jokes were IN THE MIND OF THE BEHOLDER. That is to say, if you knew what he was talking about...you probably are not innocent yourself!

@sarahmyst From what I remember then and from the reruns I've seen now, I can't really think of any inappropriate moments from the Pee Wee show for kids. It was entertaining, educational, and didn't talk down to children.
I know the original HBO premise had it's adult humor, but that's a fairly different beast.
If you can reference any examples, I'd be interested to hear them.

@FrlghtWolf Just the fact that they showed Pee Wee's playhouse on Saturday mornings when I was a kid should have been illegal...the show was totally inappropriate for kids and the act originally started out as a very risque adult comedy sketch. Shame on him, and Jim Carey and the rest of the world have total license to make fun of him as much as they want.
