Can an at-risk teenage girl launch a successful soda company? She can if she's enrolled in a program by the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) designed to help young people improve their academic, business and technological skills through entrepreneurship education.

Follow the story of one young woman and hear why some say entrepreneurship education is "the civil rights issue of our time."

Originally aired January 2007.

  • Hey, your video has good content, but I am not sure I totally agree with it... I guess that is why everyone has a channel and opinion right? Either way I like the content and the presentation. I picked up a few ideas from this video so thank you for posting. May I ask, how you go about determining what to make video content about? Are you looking for trending topics or are you just making content around what you think people should be consuming online? I am trying to figure out my process...

  • "...you're going to have to be full of energy with a love of learning..."

That's squashed by the time you're conditioned to pass SRA tests, high school exams and SATs/ACTs to get into college -- all so you can go into debt up to your eye balls, graduate and flood into the job market with all the other wayward college graduates in hopes of landing a job that a thousand other graduates are applying for.

    What a life!

GO ENTREPRENEUR FOR LIFE!!! and get yourself away from the quicksand system.

  • @larrylie88

yeah for me its very great cz not every one can get a chance to reach at universty , so its very good to start it early stage of school .

  • I agree with you Gideon...I didn't know anything about Entrepreneurship until I was 22 y/o grad from college. I so wish I would've learned about starting a business when I was in High school. That, along w/ the knowledge of financial intelligence, I would've changed my major completely!

  • @GideonShalwick im doing my IB Extended Essay on pretty much this question

  • This is so right. I wish my High School would have tought this.
