This is my fourth video in my 'Unsung Guitar Hero' Series. I've only been able to get a snapshot into Geordie's back catalogue (as he has a HUGE repertoire of stuff with Killing Joke, Muder inc, Pigface etc). Really underrated guitarist, such a big influence on modern alternative music. I hope you enjoy. Once again, all feedback and queries are great.

All the best, keep rockin' and stay inspired.

  • @BenPigIron you have completely opened my mind to guitar playing, i love killing joke and you have given me a whole new depth to them , i never knew or thought that there were so many layers to the whole outcome as i just listen to the whole but they still rank as my fave but you have just given me new light to the masterdom of Geordie and watcthin him live in a gig he just seems so effortless. KJ rule

  • @bingsy100 Thats a really cool compliment. Glad I could help.

  • you got the wait wrong....

  • @anaemiabag It is a little different to the origional due to the tunings being in E concert and i was also trying to capture some of those underlying harmonics Geordie gets.

  • @Heyanto The Hum is one of my fav old school KJ riffs, so ahead of its time. \m/

  • I never understood this exaggerated focus on KJ's early material, the 80s stuff. A couple of songs are great, but this band truly hit the stratosphere in the 90s with Jaz's now-trademark growl and a much heavier, bigger sound, not to mention far better song-writing.

Fine, the early stuff was "influential", but who cares? "Democracy" is better than all those first 5-6 albums combined.

  • nice soul patch

  • every band who have heard the Joke, have repeated the Joke

  • I don't/can't play guitar so watching your finger movement on the fret during 'Millenium' was absolutely fucking awesome. What a brilliant vid and tribute to Geordie

  • Excellent vid. Thank you for this. Cheers.

  • indeed, great guitarist, great band.. loved since the start. just spotted new tour!

  • I wasn't introduced to Killing joke until the mid eighties, when I was in my mid-twenties and playing in a band in Austin, Texas. As a drummer who a decade later pursued studies in music composition and jazz theory, I have tremendous admiration for Geordie Walker's musicality. There are those few rare musicians that find that sweet spot and connect on both a visceral and intellectual level. At that moment, words can't convey the joy of that connection. I'm happy you paid tribute to him.
