In this demo from Nora's Tango Week 2006 Hugo and Miriam demonstrate a step which, for want of a better description, I would christen the 'sprung cortado' - because it starts like ocho cortado, only instead of closing it snap shut at the end, it is used as a launch point for the woman to pivot clockwise into contramolinete (or 'giro'), with the man making a sacada in the process. Note that he has to be in cross relation with her for this right foot sacada to be possible. Miriam also shows some lovely adornments, with her pointed toe tapping the ground, and at the end, Hugo goes completely crazy.
Music is 'El Recodo' by Alejandro Junnissi and performed by Rodolfo Biagi y su orquesta tipica.
It is true, that the preparation of that movement runs in the crossed system. But the sacada itself is running of course in parallel system. Imagine that his weightshift to his right foot comes along with the weightshift to her left foot, means: parallel system!! But it is a nice step anyway ...
