a sane long term strategy is to use the technology we have now to tap the energy we know works today (fossil fuels), in addition to funding research for renewable energy in the future. It make no sense not to mine for coal and use it for cheap electricity for the next 30 years while an alternative is being researched. THAT is forward thinking.

Fracking for Natural gas has been held up by baseless charges with no evidence to back them up. Oil drilling on Federal land is down, again. Off shore drilling is banned. Drilling in ANWR is banned. No nuclear power rectors since 1977. Billions wasted on failed solar companies and biofuels which raise the cost of food for the poor.

You're not planners, but stallers. You're hoping a green solution will miraculously appear, but it's decades away. The Keystone XL pipeline should be built now.
