Turning A Crotch Bowl On A Foot Powered Lathe

Every now and then I turn a Crotch Bowl for a bit of interest. It requires a bit more in the finishing, as the grains orientation is in two different directions. The wood is birch. Using the crotch is a good way of getting bigger diameter pieces, but has a tendency to distort unpredictably whilst drying, which is OK if you want it to it can form some interesting shapes.
