Pico de Gallo Recipe

tomatoes
onion
jalapeno peppers
cilantro
lime
garlic (if you want it)
salt and pepper to taste

Dice and slice the above ingredients and then combine them in a bowl. This recipe is best made to your liking and the exact ratio of the ingredients is not vital to the recipe. If you enjoy lots of onions put extra in. If you want it hot and spicy put in more jalapenos. Extra lime will give it a more acidic flavor. Experiment with your ingredient ratios to find out how you like it.

  • Thanks For The Kind Words! I will keep adding more recipe ideas, tips and techniques. Sometimes during the week, it can be frustrating to make things quick and easy when on the SCD.

    Mark

  • Thanks for the recipe. Great presentation. Keep up the good work.

  • @pucheon45 - Thanks for the inspiration and kind words...I will have many more recipes coming in the next few weeks

  • Great video and great quality.

Just a comment about audio. I can only hear on left side most of the time (yes I wear head phones) :)

  • @claw787 - Thanks for the comments...I will have my AV guy check out what the problem is and we will try and correct it for next time!

  • Chef Mark,

Another great recipe video. Thanks for sharing. How are you doing on the 4 Hour Body? I'm doing well on it myself. If you're interested at all in doing a guest blog or vlog on my site let me know. I think your videos are great! -Johnny

  • @johnnydflynn - Hey there! Thanks for the comments. I have lost 14 pounds so far (even with some unforeseen "cheat meals") and my energy has increased significantly. I am carb-O-holic! I am half French and half Spanish, so rice, bread, tortillas, bread, and carbs of just about every other kind are staples in my meals. I have found ways to satisfy those cravings though.

Yes I would be very interested in doing a guest blog with you. How can I get in touch?

  • Very cool video and recipe. I will definitely whip some up. I love knowing what's in my food, which is why I like to make most things myself.

I don't think that corn chips and beer are Slow-Carb approved though ;)

Although Dos Equis is pretty darn good.

  • cont.

btw would be handy to include a link for the recipe and preferably calorie-content in the description field.

  • Damn I loved this, Mark - eat it almost every day now. The trick for me is to cook the beans up, portion & put them in the freezer, then putting them in the fridge the night before to thaw up each morning.

I've long procrastinated on the idea of having a few simple (in preparation time, not in quality ofc), kickass, healthy recipes for each meal every day that I can juggle. Just too much information out there. You seem to love your craft and be good at it --> a great source. Keep it up!!!
