You are blessed; all the "old" state highways here were downloaded (by Republicans) on the counties, and muni's who couldn't afford to keep them up. In some place bridges were closed, forcing people way out of their path.

America at its best. I have driven this hiway countless times and it seems to get better each trip. Thank you this video

Just drove the automobile segments today and hiked a couple of the trail sections (in the rain, of course!). Can't wait to go back in the summer and drive/hike it! I now live in North Idaho, so it's a little ways to drive.
Nice to see the Oneonta Tunnel was reopened. Shame about the old Mitchell Tunnel, though.
I think it would be cool to celebrate the trail centennial by hosting a vintage car parade, say 1925 and older, on the whole highway—motorway and drivable trail.

@JuDGe369 When we re-opened the Oneonta Tunnel we had a parade of vintage cars. It was really fun to see. As more sections of the historic highway are opened, we'll have more special events and invite folks to walk, bike or drive vintage cars along the roadway. Call 503-731-4957 to get on the e-mail list.
