Tortured Law, a new 10-minute documentary by Alliance for Justice, examines the role U.S. lawyers played in authorizing torture. Join those calling on Attorney General Eric Holder to release the report of the DOJ Office of Professional Responsibility, and hold accountable those who ordered, designed, and justified torture.

You can join the call by signing Alliance for Justice's petition: http://ga1.org/campaign/release_torture_memos

  • What the hell is wrong with people thinking this is ok to do. Torture is inhumane witch will lead to murder..

  • HYPOCRISY:

We called water-boarding torture during the Japanese used these practices against American prisoners of War in WWII, yet when we conduct the same practice, it's not torture? The people of the United States and the world are not stupid.

  • What about those individuals who died while these techniques were being implemented? That's murder, so where is the investigation and justification for this? If torture interrogations made it possible for finding Osama Bin Laden, then why did it take until the Obama Administration redirected our efforts from Iraq to Pakistan, did we act on this alleged torture produced information leading to the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden?

  • Bush is right. It wasn't torture. The lawyers said it was enhanced interrogation. That is obviously something different than torture, different word, different thing.

Ha Ha How do you like my Bush impersonation?

  • We need to find a Member of the US House of Representatives with the courage to introduce a simple bill, like the one that got rid of Alberto Gonzales, to investigate impeachment of Jay Bybee for authorization of torture, in violation of the 8th Amendment and numerous treaties and laws.

  • I miss Sen. Kennedy.

  • protest at 9th circuit district courts once/month. next one in pasadena is thurs 11-5, 10 a.m. 125 s. grand, pasadena, there are also courts where bybee sits in portland, seattle & s.f. check your local indymedia for deets...

  • They didn't cover enough!

  • 1984...it is...

  • There was another attorney at the Office of Legal Counsel, Robert Delahunty, who co-authored the earlier legal memos with John Yoo which set the framework for torture. Yoo and Robert Delahunty advised the Bush Administration to ignore the advice of the State Department in declaring that the Geneva Conventions could be circumvented. Delahunty now teaches law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis.
