no, this war happened because the colonists were largely upset over their brunt of the taxes they had to pay from the defense of their colonies from the French and Indian Wars.

Puritans were the first to incite New England into open rebellion, and then the gentlemen of the Enlightenment gathered in Philly to make unified demands. They were rejected by Westminster, and the soon-to-be states were systematically declared in an open state of rebellion.

Did you know, that when Cornwallis met defeat at Yorktown, the British still occupied:

Coastal Carolina southward into East Florida, the city of New York and the surrounding counties, upper New York and most of what is now in the state of Maine?

The British withdrawal was a politically motivated one - not one out of defeat;

The above listed areas and a naval blockade is not a victory.

Of which, by the way, you owe to the French.

Ohhhh i feel real bad for them....but for a war to be called a revolution...doesnt there has to change something big? well we have gotten more war and more space to,live seem yhe fact the real americans got slaughtered, half of asia got slaughtered, the middle east.
