there's something we use for motorcycle roadracing safety at tracks called AIRFENCE, way better than this set up. it has individual chambers , it bolts to the ground and it can catch bikes and riders going over a hundred. I have seen a crash at turn 12 at Road Atlanta at over a hundred and the rider walked away, bike was barely tweaked...and they don't slide under the fence...

Maybe if it was anchored to the ground it could work a little bit better? It travels a bit when you hit it so if the riders crash with a bit more distance with each other it seems like the air-bag could be pushed too far out (or too high, if the second rider crashes in a low sliding stance) by the first impact(s) to be there for the other riders.
