Ugh i have a problem with that. Restore, then why did you put a corvette engine in it, so much for being original.

Good point. It was an interesting day, looking at the hundreds of cars at the event. Some were faithful and true restorations, and some were ground-up fantasy builds - and then, you're right, there are those in the middle (like Surfer Girl) that are mostly restorations, but then they change the specs they don't care for.

I think some other collectors of classic cars look down on the Woodies as some sort of joke; you don't really see many (or any) of them in a typical classic auto show. But that's what makes seeing 300 of them in one day such an incredible thing.
