it's called a manual wind because... you have to manually wind it?

    What in the hell.....

  • Quick question,

With the Automatic watches, is it possible to "overwind" it by turning your hand TOO much?

  • do all auto watches have the feature of winding the crown in addition to the pendulum power?

  • wait

so if in the automatic one, the pendulum thing goes back and forth, can I accidentally unwind it by making it spin in the wrong direction?

  • @guitarMclassical No.. I believe they use a clutch mechanism to prevent overwinding.

  • can you convert one to another, say a manual wind to an automatic. If its just a case of an offset weight to turn the mainspring, surely it could be possible in theory?

  • @LegendaryLvl1 are u stupid? that makes sense

  • @guitarMclassical No, there is a clutch inside the watch that prevents you from overwinding an automatic. So technically, no, you can't overwind an automatic.
