@DLN09 this is why John Mayer is one of the best lyricists around. his words have a deeper meaning and this is why he has to be my favorite solo musician his lyrics are just incredible

I think the line "I don't remember you looking any better, but then again I don't remember you." is a major turn off. The latter part of the sentence, makes the first part of the sentence sound even even more arrogant and patronizing. JM seems to have a heart of gold, but to me, he's missing a sensitivity chip....as evidenced, every now and then, in his lyrics. IE "a woman who doesn't deserve my love.". Hello...did I just hear right.?

I think the meaning of this song is "I don't care what people say in e.g. YouTube comments about what I've done in the past or what I should do in the future."
Basically he stuck one finger up to all the people judging him. But go ahead and keep judging if you want, it passes the time I guess.
