I'm convinced that Marilyn can sing almost anything. Her voice is so versatile.
I saw her 'live in concert' in Vegas (before Solid Gold) in the mid 80's. She was wonderful.

She is the MILF of all MILFS. There should be an album of all the songs she covered on Solid Gold. Her voice is equal to her beauty.

She could sing the phone book!

She's cute

Nice but Rex Smith did it better on this very show with Laura Branigan who was a much better singer.

Oh, Ms. Marilyn...why do ppl want to box you in ONE category. Don't they know you were ALWAYS more than just a POP singer. Your versatile vocals cannot contain you in one genre. You can SANG it all!

@cyberella Hi...there is a video with Marilyn singing "If I Could Reach You" from the SRO concert she did in the late 80s/early 90s posted on YT...just search her name and the title of the song. It is a WONDERFUL rendition...even better than the original version she did with the 5th Dimension in 1972.

OK ! fine i love you

You know, I was ready to rip into her, but I must say...it's not nearly as terrible as I wished it to be. She did a good job. It's a great song, so that helps alot. I like it though. Love the gold llame. (sp)

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Journey luv you Marilyn still do

Thanks for this... it shows that Journey can write great disco songs for beyond gifted singers while being a mediocre act. Best version ever.

I remember her performance of "Who's Crying Now", too, and as much as I love Journey's high octane version I remember being very impressed by McCoo's breezy, truncated version on the show. She's really a much better singer than she gets credit for. She has a lovely pure pop sound not unlike Karen Carpenter or Dionne Warwick. I'd love to hear 'Who's Crying Now" again.

She completely butchered this song

Really? The ending kicks! And considering she's more pop star, ballad-oriented, Marilyn does this song some justice... or, did you care to explain your comment further?

Thanks so much for that. Do you have Marilyn singing "Who's Crying Now" from Solid Gold? One of her best performances.

Hmm... I don't have Marilyn singing that one. Sounds like it was a good match for her voice. Maybe someone else will post it?
