This is the Ode to the Light (Ode til lyset) statue in Skjeberg, Norway. The music is written by Arne Nordheim and is played depending on the time of day, the amount of light, among other things.
The painter, Olav Strømme, one of Arne Nordheim's friends, used the theme of light in several of his paintings. One of them is called "Lys faller inn", 'Light falls inside', a theme I think he developed when he decorated the Furuset Metro station in Oslo. The light fell alongside the staircases in harmony with the architecture and was rythmically transposed into the tunnel. I mention this, as it shows a shared exploration of the theme of light.
