What really adds to the charm of instrument from the '80s is the design of the instrument, I mean, the looks. For instance, a Roland Fantom with big color LCD looks to me like a cheesy windows PC, whereas any black keyboard from the '80's looks cool to me.

Herbert Midgley, you are a fu*king pimp. If only more people were like you, our world would be a more pleasant and slightly more goofy place to live. Keep up the reviews dude.

I owned one of these in 1986 prior to selling it and getting a Yamaha DX21. As you can hear in this YouTube video, it was one of the worst sounding synthesizers available in the 1980's demonstrating that not everything from the 1980's was good by default. Unlike Roland, Yamaha, and Korg, Casio never produced a synthesizer in the 1980's that was taken seriously by professional musicians wanting to make good sounding synth patches. The Casio CZ101 therefore remained an entry level budget synth.

Cazio cz 101 = damn good synth. I have microkorg, 707, m1 etc. But this one is the best synth of them all, for my opinion. Very good for synth music, ambient, experimental/personal rock/metal etc etc. Very powerfull synth also(reminds 70's analog synths a lot). Just a Little bit of echo and Cz 101 do miracles. Use Google for CZ 101manual and for more information. U.K. Price = 170-220 euro. Dont ever sell this one if you have this! this is a really uniq and true gem. USEFULL. It is also Keytar.

It's funny that pop and techno musicians are striving for a new sound every second, yet in the dusty corner of 100's of garage sales lies these things for $5 and $10, and it doesn't require hours and hours of tweaking music maker programs.
No offense intended, but doesn't he look like a cross between Drew Carey and Cory Feldman or what?
