  • I first went to Eastfield as a young kid with my dad on the open day in October 1972. I can vaguely remember going down under a loco in the inspection pit. My dad told me years later it was possibly a Deltic. With all the health and safety madness around nowadays I doubt it would be allowed now.

  • I miss seeing the "Scottie Dogd " thunder by on the 37,47 and the 08's :-(

  • ur rite he wiz an ol bastard.woodentop we called him.spent many a shift drinkin wine on they locos.Ha! no jokin.

  • I also meant to say i knew some of the staff in the eastfield. i knew a mechanic jimmy finlay from bishopbriggs who i used to drink with in the crow tavern and an electrician jim keterrer. if anybody knows these guys (including old mean arse lamb) please let me know.

  • i stay right next to what was the eastfield depot and remember back in the late 70's and early 80's i was a regular visitor to the depot but even with a pass from british rail there was an old irish manager a certain mr lamb if my memory serves me correctly? would still refuse me permission to the depot. i wonder where he is now? OLD BASTARD LOL.

  • I was one of the last people to visit Eastfield before it closed. Sept 1992.

  • nice video, i dont think much of BRs new air-con system at 00:58
