http://www.weirderthebetter.com.au/epages/wewe3183.sf In part 2, Small business marketing expert, Linda Hailey talks with Graham about understanding who his shop customers are at various times of the year. Linda suggests doing buyer research by recording customer post codes and amount spent, every time a sale is made. This will give Graham an overall average spend per customer and post code, or customer category. This simple customer research will provide Graham with a breakdown that will assist him when it comes to buying stock for his shop. Linda also says it would be a good idea to identify the bigger spending professional customers that visit his store and to also allocate product display space based on how much revenue certain products earn the business. Linda also talks about ways of measuring how the business is performing through benchmarking.
