Mario Lanza (1921-1959)
"La Spagnola" (Dole- di Chiara). Recorded June 27, 1952, for the final broadcast of The Mario Lanza Show, with studio orchestra conducted by Constantine Callinicos.
Here is Lanza's sole recording of Vincenzo di Chiara's "La Spagnola", and it's a veritable knockout. The tenor is in magnificent voice and sounds like he is having an absolute blast. This is joyful, thrilling singing, yet another treasure from the Coca-Cola show archives!
