I think the US was very proud of having dropped the bomb in Japan and ending oppression for those in the Far East. They didn't just save their own lives, they saved the lives of many there. Who wants to kill innocent people and civilians? No one does, but violence will beget violence. If you're thinking that they're innocent, they sent their men abroad to fight, and were still grooming young men for war.

@FatTallibanMan If U.S really wanted to kill innocent Japanese civilians, A Nuclear strike on Tokyo and more densely populated cities would have wiped out most of Japanese population, Instead they choose to just nuke the Military installations at Hiroshima and Nagasaki as a warning.
The war was started by Japanese and they deserve everything they got back, Neither one is expected to show mercy in a war, Japan should have thought about the civilian consequences BEFORE it went to war.
