The Penans are waging a battle on two fronts simultaneously. On one hand, they are trying to protect their jungle from being destroyed by loggers while on the other they are trying their best to get the authorities to provide them with the most basic necessities in life.

  • the problem with the identity card is that, the goverment doesn't care about it because they want to continue logging in sarawak.....I myself, a Kenyah (also one of the tribe related to penan) saw with y own eyes how they logged the forest....

  • I heard about the penan people on BBC Radio 4. I was horrified at what I have heard. This would not be allowed in UK or Europe so why are these people not being allowed their rights? The Government should allow The penan people to be custodians of the rainforest. To preserve their way of Life and to protect all species of plants and animals is a sound investment for the future. Support For these brave and gentle people here from Heywood , Northern England!
