  • When you have a weapon that should cover a large area but does not, coupled with monsters that can duck below your attack zone, along with awkwardly thrown or used sub weapons (For instance the ax, thrown slowly up to gracefully ark down. Looks like he granny tossed it. Its a battle ax, yet thrown like a bean bag) And in the earlier games, once you jump, you cannot adjust your movement, say, to stop from leaping off a ledge or into an enemy, or to attack the enemy behind you.

  • @grandtheftauto5555 Still when you compare swordplay to whip-play (Is the art of whip fighting called whip play?) normally, whips are harder to use, but when used well are quite a bit faster with a much wider area of attack. I've never seen a whip dart directly forward and back which is all the area the whip gives you, which is just as much as a stabbing motion with the sword (Granted in most of them holding the button down allows for multidirectional movement, but low powered)

The "Turbo graphic 16" version.AKA The good version, it wasnt released on the super nes in japan, nintedo of america got the rights to use it, but they basicly killed it. The origonal had exta levels and a second play able character "maria" it was in my opinon almost as good as its sucessor castlevainia SOTN.

  • @grandtheftauto5555 That would be great, but they will not update the motion of the sub weapons, many of which are just annoying and for the most part are more of a hassle to use effectively then they should be, excluding the cross and bible since they either have a decent spacial area of effect (Wider then the knife so it covers more area and returns) and the bible moves around you, attacking smaller and those above you. The whip movement in these castlevania games do not mimic RL whips.

  • @grandtheftauto5555 Which version? The original SNES version, the PC version, or the much later psp version? I did play the snes version, which was pretty bad in my opinion. I have not played the pc version, but from the youtube videos, it appears to be the exact same, possibly a little different, but still the same. I do not own a psp, so I have not played the latest version of Castlevania: Dracula X aka Rondo of Blood. If they have improved the movement and game play in the character

  • @EtherSalad

Well have you ever played castlevainia rondo of blood.

  • @grandtheftauto5555 Aria of Sorrow was possibly one of the best games for the series, followed right behind Symphony of the Night for the ps1. It is VERY hard to beat a game with great game play, visuals, and a good story.

That being said, after the snes castlevania and one for n64, I stopped playing any that had the main weapon be the whip. The idea behind the whip is awesome, and love whips. They are horrible, gameplay wise, in these games. Also not a fan of their sub weapon system.

  • @GothPrincessTiffany.... it doesn't... this is a intro to a castlevania video game.

  • what ever happened to the GOOD castlevania games? after the super nes castlevania has been in the shits
