My Grandma use to sing this to my mom, and mom sang this to me. My grandma passed away a few years ago and its been hard loosing her. My dad started to play it and my mom ran, knowing she would be sobing by the end. I havnt heard this song in a long time, but when my dad started playing it, I started to cry, thinking of my grandma. I miss you!

@NCFLbabygirl Thank you for your comments and reminder that we were (and still are) so BLESSED! It's hard to hear that you still ache after 25 years......I'll stop waiting for the ache to stop. At least the pain has decreased with time.

Crying my eyes out listening to this song. This was mine and my mom's song. Tomorrow will be 18 years since she's gone and I still miss her. I love you mommy!!!

I am a 48 year old man, and I cannot explain it but, when I hear this song; the lyrics touch me in such a way that I cannot hold back the tears no matter how hard I try. Especially the ending. Trust me, I rarely have ever cried.

@01DragonflyTree I am sitting crying my eyes out. Your comment sounded just like mine. My dad died in1978 (I was 19 and a Daddy's girl). My mother loved my dad so dearly and I know now she never stopped hurting for his loss. My mom and I were the only ones left with no one. She told me this was our song. She passed away 25 years ago, and there is not a day I don't ache for her. I've never listened to this because I knew I'd boo hoo!! 01Dragon~we were so BLESSED! I love you Mum!!

My mom used to sing this to me,I cry when i hear It and thank god I have her but,It makes me upset knowing I will haft to lose her one day well,I have her now, that;s all that matters

Funny, my Mother sang this to me too! She would do so back when it was popular and being played on the radio. Lost my Mom in 92 and each time I hear this I think of her and hear her singing this to me. It hasn't been the same since I lost the best friend I will ever have. Will never stop missing her.

My name is Alicia and I have been a single mom of 3 boys for 23 years. I was informed today that my 12 year old son will recieve the presidents awards for academic excellence! I am happy today but I too have lost my mom 2 years ago and not a day has gone by that I don't cry wishing to hold her caring hand one more time. I love you mom! ♥♥
