O'Hara was a New York School poet. Not really considered A Beat. Same Time period, different school of poetry (but both schools have their similarities, but the new york school was more interested in real life experiences and the abstract expressionists like jackson pollock). if you like O'hara i would recommend reading his short manifesto "Personism"

Well, I'm certainly not an expert. I just found the poem in a beat anthology, but from what I do know the term has a different level of relevancy depending on how your using it.
