For the benefit of everyone:

The version of the O Canada you hear is a special arrangement composed by Montreal jazz musician Vic Vogel in 1976 for the Summer Olympics.

I only know this because there's a scratchy old 45 with the credits at my folks' place. It says, "To be broadcast without any authorization." :)

When I was younger, I would tune into the O Canada film, and count how many images I'd see while the anthem played. I was really into drawing and colouring, and had this idea for an art project where I would draw that many pictures of Canadian scenes, and upon completion, I would take it in to the TV station in hopes that they would show it in the sign-on and sign-offs. Sadly, as I grew and developed more skills, the project never materialized. :(
