Do you ever do mini twists in your hair? If yes, how do you detangle?

I think my texture is similar to yours but I am now realizing that your hair is like your fingerprint in that no 2 textures are exactly alike. I've noticed that the less I comb my hair the better the texture has become. I part with my fingers most of the time and I try to wash my hair every 3 to 5 days. I work in a rubber plant so this frequency is necessary to remove the smell. I wanted to know if your hair was long when you were very young. I think that helps determine growth rate later.
