@Marc329 because kirei is a noun adjective, and yoi (yoku) is a regular adjective. only the regular adjectives have inflexions while the noun adjectives stay the same.

Why is it not "kore wa yoku desu"? This is good, no? "kore wa kawaii desu" is right? Or "kore wa kawaii arimasu"? I am pretty confused now!

@Marc329 I think it's because it ends in "i" while "yoku" ends with the inflexion "ku".
