Dr. Clay Morton, World Karate Champion, demonstrates the Enpi Jump. This move adds excitement and power to the already intricate routine and must be learned carefully. Learn more at his website DrClayMorton.com
If the technique is practiced from a naturally derived kiba dachi and with a specific bunkai, it only needs practice and will never need this type of explanation. This guy is a good athlete, he lacks seasoning in true karate because it is obvious he practices as a sport with little insight regarding martial arts.
Very interesting points, here. thank you for sharing.I jump with both feet at the same time , making sure my head is straight , making sure I do not drop my chin. I get an avarage height and my landing is stable. I also picture my right knee moving up to my left elbo, (mind over matter, nice trick) This works for all jumps in Shotokan katas for me.
Wow! Thank you so much!
