I think we're really depreciating the value of So Good To Turn To here...I have to say, I've grown a fond appreciation for it. It was very actiony and it screamed, "TURN TO US!" WLWT used a very good version, I especially loved its used of the strings. A whopping 25 seconds.

This is a perfect tribute to a man who helped shape news stations around the world with his packages.
On a different note, I like #2 and #3.

I agree. KMBC used a hard hitting disco version that kicks ass.

The first 2 are actually decent:News Series 2000 Plus I believe was used at KGO around 1999 IIRC,and News Series 2001 doesn't seem to have been used by many stations...

I found out about that not too long ago online. I thought the jingles were done by someone else before I found out that Frank Gari composed the WCBS-FM jingles back in the day!
I still can't get those jingles out of my mind though...

He composed some great jingles for WCBS-FM here in New York.

I love the "hello news" package...and am so surprised how well it sync-ed!

Bring back the CHL(redone à la 1993) theme. WKBW here in Buffalo could sure use it, too.

yes, i think u should! KABC IS MY HOMETOWN STATION!!!!
On your last synch, Hello News, WDTN in Dayton used a different cut from that package for their open than what you used in this video. WDTN was an ABC affiliate at the time--they switched to NBC in 2004--so I thought it was a nice fit to WABC's news opening.
By the way, if this synch never happened, what was--or is--the original news package that WABC used in this video?
Keep those news resynchs coming! :-D

I'm posting the open with original audio for you (just check my videos). WABC uses a custom version of Gari's Eyewitness News package, commissioned in 1999.

I love you! Thanks so much for putting these together.
Could you make an enforcer tribute montage?

I actually just put up a synch that uses several of the Enforcer Series (Series 2 mostly). I really don't care for The Enforcer at all, especially the more recent versions (namely WOIO and WUSA)that Chris made.
