If you refer to upgrades of the T-55 in the early -80's it's still possible for the Centurion to be a better tank before the 80's. I wonder what makes you think a T-55 mk I (1947) was better than Centurion mk II/III (1947)?

Don't agree. The basic construction at the Centurion tank allowed alot of upgrading to make it a modern tank for a long time.
