Were Haendel alive, he would surely secure an injunction against this performance. Not only is it ridiculous, it obfuscates the original message with pyrotechnic emotion worthy of professional wrestling.

I really like this version. The only problem I have is the audience was not standing in the beginning of the song. When Handel wrote this and presented it, people stood in awe and reverence from the beginning of the song. Audiences since then have always stood during this song.
