This was my first motorcycle I have rebuilt and ran into this starter issue ... makes a world of difference !
Thanks for the tip !

Man, I replayed this video 5 times just to hear the sweet sound of the engine turning over from just pressing the starter button.
My 99 was driving me crazy! I had to gap the starter solenoid every time I wanted to ride!
I'm definitely trying this fix tomorrow.

I restored my Marauder and have never seen that module, saying that i don't have a starting problem, another thing i have done is ,there is a hole in the rear or the headlight shell,i have placed a switch there and cut the ground wire for the head light and wired it through the switch,,that done i can switch off my headlight so it starts even better without having to share the battery with the headlight.

Thank You! I have the same problem on my 97 Marauder. I always wondered what that problem was. I'll be doing this fix soon on mine.
Its is supposed to be some type of surge protector, but it doesn't work correctly, and causes a loss of voltage to the starter. Guys from our maurauder forum have removed these successfully for over two years with no issues.
