Earth Animation Test

all of this was created by me in Blender. I used Blue Marble textures and a custom cloud map. All effects (flares, cloud shadows, etc) were done in Blender. Time to complete? Nearly two months and three different earth versions. Enjoy!

Great job! How did you do amosphere?

Hey man. I did this in Blender (took me about two months and three different versions till I got one I liked). The whole composition is on separate layers (earth/sky, sun, stars, and atmosphere) and blended together using nodes. The atmosphere is a sphere above the earth layer that has the Ray Transp settings tweaked so that the Fresnel is high. I added a Blur Node to the render layer and a RGB level node to emphasize the colors. People keep wanting me to make a tutorial and I will... soon!

@Joelgerlachfilms excellent my friend. I do blender tutorials and am very familiar with the program so I know how hard this stuff can be. I know that something as simple as a planet can take MONTHS before its possible to render correctly. The rendering time alone can take days depending on the detail
