  • Bill Walsh compltely outcoached Don Shula in this game. The 49ers played a lot of nickel and dropped linebackers all day. They were going to make Miami run the ball to beat them and they couldn't do it and Dan marino never had the patience for it. An easy 38-16 whipping. Marino's only Super Bowl appearance and it was a colossal failure. Shula would never make it bak to a Super Bowl either.

  • @JM1980s odd that the pats lost their only Super Bowl after they were caught cheating and had to stop lol

  • @SuperMathewson I know they won back to back in '88 and '89, but that wasn't the debate him and I were having!

  • To all the people spewing about Marino's lack of running game...While it's true how many more times did Marino see the SB?? ZERO...And I don't wanna hear about his lack of running game...ELWAY got there three times in the same era with NO RUNNING GAME..He didn't win any of them, but he GOT there THREE TIMES...And Denver was very similar to Miami back then....As profilic a passer as he was, even w/o a running game he should've gotten to another SB..

  • @professorintellect Well Roger Craig was VERY good...First back with both 1000 yards rushing and receiving....

  • @37iggyfenton Well, if he's not the best in CRUNCH TIME then Marino ISN'T the best of all time....

  • @chiuaha5734 Uh well, what did you want them do?? Change the location after the 49ers made the SB?? The location is determined before the SEASON starts....

  • Had this game been played in today's age, there's no doubt that the Dolphins would have got many pass interference calls, and Marino had a target on his back. Defensive players could hit as hard as they wanted, and if they went for Marino, they could knock him silly and hit him as hard as possible, and it was no flags at all.

Just the fact that 5 quarterbacks were close to 5,000 yards this season (3 did make it) just tells you that the NFL is way too hard on defenses, letting offenses get flags

  • Fred Dean. Man, did the Chargers ever fuck that one up.
