I Don't Recall - Alberto Gonzales Hearing

Gore Vidal does an excellent impression of him. Makes ruthless fun of him -- as he should. Gonsalez was and is a dispicable toad who did much to harm the American Republic.

Any american president is going to be corrupt. president bush was an asshole...obama is even an asshole. They dont want to help the country...all they want to do is put it in debt. Thats all that has happened. more debt = bad for people

It's a testament to how corrupt the WHOLE system is that a completely contemptible lackey like Gonzales could NOT be gotten rid of!!! In an honest form of government, Gonzales,
Bush et al would have been impeached and convicted very early on. TheBushes are bad, but the fact that they survived shows you how BAD the entire system is. Sad. Truly sad.

Ashcroft may have been a useless jackass, but at least he wasn't an utterly spineless toady like Gonzales.

Comey told Gonzales that this torture and illegal domestic spying shit was a bad idea, and Gonzales agreed. But he simply had no balls. He owed his career to the Bushies. He crawled up on their lap and licked their faces like a good dog.

It's telling that the guys at Justice who were fighting this were right-wing conservatives themselves. They just weren't "fucking crazies", as Powell put it, like Cheney, Addington, Rumsfeld, and Wolfowitz.
