This is a video inspired by Kylecarrington on utube who found that a Dr stiffler type sec exciter circuit will produce plasma from the aircore L3 coil.
I have not seen this before so i am am quite excited by this discovery so wanted to try it and I struck lucky .
I am using 10uh inductors for both L1 and L2,L2 having a tuning magnet attached.
The circuit diagram can be found in my previous sec exciter video.

  • @jonnydavro :) by the way, in case you've forgotten (which would be understandable) it's "crazy mark" :)

  • Thanks tectalabyss. This is new to me also and I am quite excited by Kyles find.Cheers.Jonny

  • Hi GBluer. It is running at 16v ,itwon't work on less, off a wall adapter.Kyles is running at 12v with more plasma so i have a way to go yet but i am just glad that I found a setup which works.Cheers.Jonny.

  • Hi Kyle. Its looking like the L3 coil is very important as you have changed its resonant frequency by snipping a bit off and now its dropped out of the small operational window for plasma but i think all components have to be just right to see plasma from the Sec circuit and we just struck lucky.I hope you can get it going again, try a magnet on the L2.Jonny

  • I also noticed that unwinding some more wire (after I had cut mine short) did not fix the loss of plasma. It seems, anyway, that the total length may be more important than I once thought...
