I understand what you're trying to say, i really do, but you're still comparing apples to oranges. Accessibility is as much a skill or technique as music theory and mechanical skill. It does take a certain type of talent to be a pop icon even if it isn't solely (or much at all) in musical finesse.

That said i don't think i've seriously listened to anyone on that list.
