Ghost Box EVP Session

A Ghost Box, or sometimes called "Franks Box", is a normal AM/FM radio that has been modified to constantly scan frequencies. I have modified a Radio Shack 12-587 AM/FM radio to change channels approx. 4 times per second. It is believed that spirits can use the "White Noise" and the frequency changes to help them verbalize words. This was my first session giving this method a try, while doing an EVP session in a very dark basement. There was almost no AM radio station signal being picked up in that basement, although manually tuning I was able to pick up only 2 frequencies and I could not even make out what was being said they were so filled with static.

I am not 100% sold on this method of obtaining EVP's, but I was very impressed with what I was able to find considering the circumstances.

Mine locks onto one frequency too sometimes. what do you think causes that?

@ParanormalMystic well, this particular type of radio does tend to do this. I think it could be due to the strength of a signal on a particular station it is passing by. But that is not exactly correct either, because I have had it stop on stations with absolutely nothing broadcasting. Most all cases I do not feel it is paranormal at all for the radio to stop. In this instance, it did seem really interesting what voices said just prior to it. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. Worth seeing though.

hey man cool stuff. He is right, the newer models do stop at random times. I still have my old model that doesn't do it do. I was just wondering, how do you clean up your audio?

@pauldingparanormal I use a combination of things sometimes. Audacity is a good freebie and doesn't do to bad. I have recently started using adobe audition, as it gives you more ability to clip specific frequencies as well as boost specific frequencies. Adobe Sound Booth is virtually the same thing also.

The 12-587 stops scanning occasionally. It is a known fault. They all do it.

@GiacomoC I completely agree. Something I have noticed also. But what made it interesting, was what was said just prior to the scan stopping. Still proves nothing, but very interesting for sure!
