@cant1rac awful was far too strong a word, just run off the mill.
nothing great play it a few times get bored and forget it, come back to it every now and then because theres few n64 racers better.

one off the better racing games, but still awful compared to what was being put out on other consoles at the time.
the f1 games were the best racing games on the n64, but there are very little greart racing titles on both the n64 and the snes, pity because they are more than capable.
lost count of how many duds i've bought to find that 1 great racing game on the snes and n64 nintendo machines

Is this race under water?

@LiesLikeKnives STCC was terrible on the Saturn in a lot of ways, but especially the framerate. WDC was a beautiful looking game but really fell short in the physics department - the cars handled like bricks. I played this game once, and I remember nothing about it, but it does look good.
To anyone who likes GT64, I suggest you take a look at MRC as well, another solid N64 racer.

Not bad racing, i mean is so underrated

God, this game is awesome, i have to buy it!!!
The only problem was that the game was too easy

No wonder he doesnt win he takes the turns all wrong, im gonna get this game
This game got terrible press when it came out so I stayed away from it but it doesn't look so bad. It is certainly ALOT smoother than Sega Touring Cars which I did buy at the time.
Damn gaming press.............
Also, my favourite "serious" racing game on the N64 has to be World Driver Championship.

Sega Touring Car wishes it could be so smooth. I remember getting headaches playing it on the Saturn, until I got used to the erratic frame rate. I also had GT64 at the time, and somehow remember that I'd still rather play STCC instead. That music was awesome!

Yes, I remember seeing sega touring car in a video game magaziene back in the day, still shots of the game looked so impressive but compared to gran tourismo 1 or even porsche challenge on the ps1, near unplayable, the game gave me migranes

WDC is head and shoulders above any N64 racer for sure

First N64 game I owned. I was like 4 or 5. I remember I liked it so much that I didn`t even buy another game. So my parents got Super Mario 64, and I barely played that. It was games like GT64, World Driver, Top Gear, MRC, V-Rally, Rally Challenge 2000 that got me heavily involved in the Gran Turismo series. (Yes I now consider myself a Playstation guy but Nintendo doesn`t really make realistic driving games anymore.

I know how you feel, race games take about 85% of my gaming attention. The first race game that got me started was Sega Rally and Virtua Racing on the sega saturn, Christmas 1996
