This is Heinse competing at 4th level, test 1 in 2004. He had just recently been imported to the US and this was his first test in America with his new owner/rider. Heinse is primarily a harness horse (twice Friesian driving champion), known for producing superb offspring and passing on a good temperament and strong work ethic. He is a Leffert son with three approved brothers and two approved sons. A real treasure.

  • I used to work for MA Malone. Wow, does she look bad. I guess she's gotten old and stiff. It reflects in the horse's preformance.

  • I do not really know her personally, but I do know that this video was taken just after she bought Heinse and she had hardly ridden him. I think they were both very nervous. So, that is a little context. Sure rides a heckuva lot better than I do.

  • If you look back on the ISF website to videos of her riding Contango, that is when she looked her best. As for her having nerves, in the years I worked for her I rarely saw her nervous at a show unless it was a CDI qualifier. I was actually surprised to see this video, though it's from four years ago...she seems to be riding alot less now than she did in the past.

  • Thanks - I will look. ISF owns a number of approved Friesian stallions. These stallions are a rarity and famous in their own circles - only about 16 in the US and 80 in the world. There are a few other videos posted of the ISF Friesian stallions if you are interested - look for Goffert, Erik and Teade. As a breeder, I am interested in the stallions. I am afraid I am not very knowledgeable about dressage, though I certainly enjoy watching it.

  • Amazing. Getting this uphill gallop with good impulsion and also these flying changes out from a harness horse is just amazing, and even more if you know how much work it is (normally several years) to get a horse to level four or five. Keep on working und good luck. Greetings from a dressage rider from Spain.

  • Hola!! tu español esta bastante bien! he publicado un video de Geart que asi se llama mi potro , cuando el tenia 4 años. Si tienes publicado algo de Wikke me encantaria verlo. Puedo escribirte en inglés si prefieres. Saludos Nuria

  • Yes, I know about the Friesians. Though she started importing them a couple years after I left. I check out the website on a semi-regular basis. Was very sorry to hear about the loss of Contango. Next to Roemer he was my fav. I actually didn't realize MA was getting so far up there in the years. According to Forbes, she's 57, so I hope that when I'm 53 I'm still out there showing and riding stallions:). Nice talking to you!
