@onlyeyesabove Well, look at Elvis. He made many versions of some of the most well-known Christmas carols to the christian population at the time. Yet the man was never a christian. The media's filled with "artists" that make versions of these songs, but they don't make them to worship Jesus. Instead, they do it to make more money. Now, I don't know for sure if this group is even partly christian, so if I'm wrong I will stand corrected. Until then, I still highly doubt they believe the words.

Oh man... this song gives me chills every time. I love the lyrics. You can tell that it was not originally written in English, based on the cadence of the song. Great version by Weezer.

@Slacktoo I'm really not trying to mean but I wonder do you kinda laugh at the irony in that? I am so sorry if I offended you in any way

Just heard this on "Raising Hope", excellent.
I'm an atheist and I love Christmas songs, especially the religious ones, they're much more beautiful

What a "sweet hymn of joy" -- I'm glad that Weezer "raised" it!
And what a powerful second verse: "Truely he taught us to love one another, his law is love and his gospel is peace; chains shall he break for the slave is our brother, and in his name all oppression shall cease!" Now *that* is what we all need to work for this Christmas and year round--whether we're Christian or not. This world needs peace and social justice.
