I like to sing and smoke at the same time, drawing in your 'breath' whilst pulling on a fag has a nice effect of giving a coarser note and the smoke looks cool in stage lights as it released.
Inbetween verses I take a quick sip of whiskey. This warms the vocal chords and keeps them loose throughout a performance.

yes and a lot... Smoking is the worst... there other think that affect but not much... like eat before sing... or drink bear before sing... etc...

@yoao360 Smoking tends to make your voice scratchy/rough/deeper/wraspy etc. It will change your singing voice so if you plan on a singing career i suggest not smoking.
