One couldn't think of a better cover for child abuse than an organized religion. The Catholic Church has covered up this for millennia, and other religions use their "holier than thou" approach to anyone who asked questions. Islam and Mormonism both have a history of marrying off young teenage girls to older men. The problem with the religious community is their hypocrisy. While on TV asking for donations, some of the pastors are having sex with prostitutes or engaging in pedophilia.

As an atheist, I object to polygamy not because its against mainstream christianity, but because its quite simply morally wrong to force underage girls into these marriages which I can guarantee that 90% of them don't want and are scared to death of. I remember being a 14 year old girl, and back them the thought of sex with an older man was just the most disgusting thing I could imagine. Most young girls feel that way. Its nothing but rape, it needs to be stopped.
