"Vada Raha" Movie Review

The Bobby Deol starrer Vada Raha hits the theatres this Friday the film also features a special appearance by Kangna Ranaut and has been directed by Samir Karnik

SYNOPSIS:
Vaada Raha is the story of Doctor Duke Chawla played by Bobby Deol. The American Medical Association is funding his research on Bone marrow cancer. Just before Duke is about to be married to his love, Pooja played by Kangna Ranaut he meets with an accident. He is paralyzed neck downwards and as a result, Pooja abandons him Duke is left a bitter man

In the hospital he meets12 year old Roshan who is stubborn, naughty and full of life. Roshan wishes to save his sister Roshni from cancer. Duke takes it upon himself to finish his research so Roshni can be treated. Roshan, meanwhile becomes Dukes source of strength everyday he entertains Duke by giving live commentary on whats happening outside the window of his hospital room.

In time, Duke starts to gain sensation in his hands and legs. One day the doctor tries to make him walk with the help of crutches. Duke manages to walk to the window but as he draws the curtains to look outside at the world which gave him hope, he is shocked to find just a tall boundary wall outside. The doctor reconfirms that the wall had been there for years. Intrigued, when Duke enquires about Roshan's sister, he is told that it is Roshan who suffers from cancer, not his sister.

DIRECTION
The film has been written and directed by Samir Karnik, the director of Kyun...! Ho Gaya Na, Nanhe Jaisalmer and Heroes. While the screenplay flows well, its the direction that fails to impress.

CINEMATOGRAPHY
Celebrated cinematographer, Binod Pradhan, lends his craft to the film The duo has associated ever since Karnik assisted Vidhu Vinod Chopras on Kareeb. Pradhan has shot his all previous releases & is Cinematography IS the biggest plus point of this movie.

VERDICT:
Vaada Raha is a poorly marketed film with average performances from the lead actors. On the positive side are the screenplay and cinematography. Therefore, the rating of this movie is 2.5 stars.

Great great movie...After a long time I watched a movie that has a great story and great cast. The kid is brilliant. 5 stars!

Yes, it is a good movie. Emotional and had a very good story. Very different than no-a-days-crap-of-bollywood. Zoom is just ignoring the fact that it was a meaningful movie.
