@lerkio1231 I have to disagree, if you had 90s models you may have had an auto-decompressor like on my XL600R,
Its attached to the kick starter so that it will automatically decompress the cylinder when you kick down to prevent the kick start from jumping back up.
I just bored my 87' XL600 and it HURTS REALLY bad because I am missing the lower decompression mechanism, so I have to do like in the video, and use the manual decompression lever.
That's a good video. My friend told me the same drill. I watch these guys who are more familiar with these start them right away. I'll get used to it one of these times.
Iv had two xr600s a 91 and a 98 model and this startin method is just how i used to start mine but id give two tips before you start kickin it over first crank her over slowly a few times to draw a bit of fuel through and the other is i never used to use the decompressor!! Believe it or not! Both bikes would fire up 1st or 2nd kick

@svenskan007 Att kicka hårdare gör inte saken bättre, ibland måste man låta den gå ett par varv. Att ha rätt snärt är bra mycket viktigare

The engine on your 600 looks new. Good looking bike.

Every time I start my friends xr600 the kick starter always hits the back of my leg and then it hurts to push the rear brake
