I prefer to remember Michael from that day when he was at the Apollo, and introduced to the world the Moonwalk. That was excellent, and in those days he was the coolest thing alive. But fads do fade.
I do agree, that Jackson's songs were overrated. I was a Jazz fanatic, and still am. Miles Davis is more the musician Jackson or Quincy Jones ever was, as was Ray Charles, may they all rest in peace.

Michael Jackson was a deeply troubled man increasingly living in his won fantasy world. As to his music, it was very catchy and slick and listenable and he was a great entertainer, but it never did much for me beyond being average catchy entertaining pop music.

Well, as much of a fan of Reggae as you seem to be, I would hope to imagine that you could take a more historical account of Michael Jackson's music into consideration.
I did like the Thriller album, NOT because it was Michael per se, NOT because MTV blasted it all over the place (I didn't HAVE MTV back then), but because the QUALITY of the music within reflected that certain sound of his, from the musical arrangements to the vocal arrangements.
Everything else is everything else.

Michael Jackson sold 750,000,000! He set a bunch of world records! michael's ranch was for very sick kids! Elvis was with his wife when she was 14. I think your jealous.
