  • looks like the install cost would be higher than regular standing seam.

  • @killakobra

It all depends on the roof. For a typical gable roof like this one, it would be about the same overall "cost to install", be it shingles or standing seam, because it takes about the same time

On a cut up roof with hips, dormers, valleys, chimneys / skylights, etc., standing seam would be SO much more to install, it's not even funny. Metal shingles installation a much easier when it comes to cut up roofs, because you can put up horizontal staging, and chimney flashing is much easier

  • cheap roof

  • @tileroofer

Actually this roof pretty expensive :)

  • @tileroofer tile roofing is dumb, unless the tiles are made of something NOT so dumb. But who makes copper, stainless, aluminum, platinum, gold, diamond, or any other decent material? Oh. Look at those aluminum tiles---

  • I'm starting to warm up to this..I can see lots of advantages. I just never liked the standing seam type..too industrial. But now with the shingle/shake looking design this might be my next roof. I wonder though..can you walk on it?

  • @dogg502

Well, I'm putting this roof on my own house, and I would never put slate on my roof. That thing flies off and hits someone - not good. Besides, its way too expensive and time consuming. Copper is a different story, but again too expensive for me personally.

Metal shingles are the best metal roof system in my opinion, followed by standing seam (not corrugated panels) - but hey, we all have our own preferences. You like slate and copper - some like cedar roofs - I like metal shingles.

  • pretty expensive because of your sailor with our commission and the profit how much could cost by foot square for the roofers maybe 2.00 or at least 3.00

  • @badjura I totally agree with you, I do slate and copper roofing and all other special roofs and would never put this roof on someone's house. You mine as well go buy some aluminum put accepter hems on the corners and hack it in!

  • Sorry to hear about your leaks, but - this is not interlock. And besides, your roof leaks because of bad installation, and not because the roof is bad. This roof system is the most versatile metal roof I know. The product is great, but you do need a good installer to put it up.
