@Gvanillavodka King Edward II of England was born in Caernarfon Castle, N. Wales, UK in 1284 & he became the very first Prince of Wales. He became King on the death of his father King Edward I in 1307 but he was unpopular with the Establishment due to his homosexuality although he had married & fathered a son. Edward was cruelly murdered at Berkeley Castle on 21 September 1327 after five months' confinement in a vile, stinking, putrid dungeon, death due to the vile use of a red hot poker.

The Berkeley family were away from Berkeley Castle so they were unaware of what was going on with poor Edward II? For five months????? Yeah, right......RIP, dear Edward. You were a very brave man of England, but to marry the dreadful Isabella was one almighty mistake as it all turned out. I hope she is still in torment in the Fires of Hell all these centuries later.

I've read that during his trial, Mortimer was gagged to prevent him from speaking at all. Anybody know if that's true?

I cried about the knight and the little kid that has beaten up to death...May both of them and anyone else who lived such a tragedy rest in peace.May the eternal sun shine upon thee :(

Was Edward the 2nd proved to have died by murder or was it just conspiracy theory? I'm not certain. Even the plaque in the room say "traditionally" suggesting that the history is not certain.
